Sonu Nigam’s mid air performance leads to Jet crew’s suspension

Sonu Nigam‘s impromto concert on a Jodhpur to Mumbai Jet Airways flight has led to the grounding of the flights crew. The Director General of Civil Aviation was not happy with the misuse of airplanes flight announcement system and has asked the Airline to take action against the crew.

It so happened that Sonu Nigam who was a passenger of Jet Airways Jodhpur to Mumbai flight sang on the request of the passengers on the airplanes flight announcement system. He sang two songs one from Veer Zaara and the other from Refugee. The passengers who were a part of a family returning from wedding were happy to hum along with the singer.

The end result of this concert was that the crew has been taken off from flight duty for enquiry and corrective training to reinforce strict adherence to the airline rules. Last year a Spice Jet crew was suspended for grooving to the tune of ‘Balam Pichkari’ as part of Holi celebration in flight.
