Kabir Khan reveals how his relation with Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan goes back a long way

Filmmaker Kabir Khan‘s upcoming movie ‘Tubelight’ which stars Salman Khan in the lead role has a special cameo by Shah Rukh Khan. At a recent promotional event, the actor recalled his college days and credited SRK for playing an important part in finishing his Masters. He also said that Gauri Khan had been his dance partner.

Said Kabir Khan, “SRK is somebody I have known since college days. He had given me his college notes to study. I cleared my masters in film-making with his notes. We were in same school. He was senior to me by 2 years. Gauri and I had been dancing partners in a production called Westside Stories. So we go back a long way. He further spoke about Shah Rukh Khan’s role in ‘Tubelight’. He said, “Shah Rukh’s is a lovely character in the film. It’s a very pivotal scene in the film. In a certain way it sets off the process of Salman’s character, of what he will do in the film. It’s going to be a treat to Salman and Shah Rukh together on screen after 20 years. It’s a beautiful scene. And I too am looking forward to the audience reaction to that part. I have left a little lull in that scene just for people to scream, shout, whistle and settle down before I go forward. I know what’s going to happen in the theatre. It’s going to be Mayhem when the two of them come together.”

‘Tubelight’ also stars Chinese actress Zhu Zhu and Sohail Khan. It will be releasing on June 23, 2017.
