Kabir Khan and Salman Khan have collaborated for the third time for the movie ‘Tubelight’. Recently, the trailer of the film was launched, and while talking about the film, Kabir stated that though the film is set in the 60s, the story is relevant even in today’s time.
When Kabir was asked if he chose China war instead of Pakistan to avoid controversy, Salman interrupted and jokingly said, “Release ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ again.”
Later Kabir continued, “We made ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ that had Pakistan as a backdrop, but there was no controversy around the film. That is not the reason (to avoid controversy so not included Pakistan angle in ‘Tubelight’).” (Also Read: Salman Khan’s grief over Om Puri’s loss prevents him from enjoying ‘Tubelight’ teaser)
“Every story requires a certain background and timeline. ‘Tubelight’ required this film to be set in 1962. But there are other elements in the story. It’s a relevant story even in today’s time but we can’t reveal everything now,” he added.
Salman further stated that this is the story about two brothers. The actor said, “Basically this story is about two brothers. One brother goes to war and other stays back and prays for the war to end so that his brother can come back. Now, whether his belief can actually bring back his brother or not is what the story is about.”
‘Tubelight’ which also stars Sohail Khan and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu is slated to release on June 23, 2017.
