Filmmaker Karan Johar has followed Tusshar Kapoor’s footsteps and has become the next single father in B-town. The director is now a father of twins, a boy and a girl, through surrogacy, born on the 7th of February.
Karan is in London currently and the news was confirmed by civic officials to a leading daily. BMC health executive Dr. Padmaja Keskar said, “The birth registrations were done on Friday.” The civic officials further confirmed that the director’s name as a father was mentioned against the birth registration details. The details did not mention the mother’s name though. (Also Read: In Pics: Bffs Karan Johar and Manish Malhotra holiday in London together)
The twins were reportedly born at Masrani Hospital (Andheri) on February 7.
According to sources, Karan has named his bundle of joys after his parents’ names. While the boy has been named Yash (after his father), the girl has been named Roohi (a rearranged name of his mother Hiroo).
Karan has always considered himself a father material and has many a times mentioned being one. Even at the launch of his autobiography, ‘An Unsuitable Boy’, Karan had spoken about his paternal instincts. “For me, a child means an old-age insurance policy. I have a nurturing quality in me. I saw that when I launched Alia, Varun and Sid in Student of the Year. I can’t let go of them even now. I see myself staring at them to see what they are doing and how they are doing. I am very strongly paternal. My paternal instincts need to be acted upon. My love needs a release. I love everyone. I don’t express my love enough, but the love within me needs a platform as a parent” he said.
Who would have thought that he was already working towards his plans.
Well, congratulations Karan!
