Karan Johar reveals how Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s absence would have shelved ‘ADHM’

Despite all controversies, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ has crossed the mark of 100 crore, and now Karan Johar can finally smile. It is the first movie of Karan that has crossed the coveted mark.

But, do you know that had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan not said yes to the role of Saba, Karan would have shelved the movie altogether. Can you imagine such a beautiful story not happening? Neither can we. However, this is a fact.

During an interview, Karan revealed the fact. “Sabse indispensable casting thi Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ki hai. Agar Ranbir na kehta to mera solution tha, agar Anushka na kehti to mera option tha, Aishwarya k liye mere paas option nae tha. Agar vo na karti to mai ye picture na banata. Vo jo role tha Saba only Aishwarya Rai could do,” he said. (sic)

Well, after watching the movie, we too can say that the character of Saba had been written just for Aishwarya, and no one else could have done justice to it so beautifully as Ash did.

Let’s just say that both Karan and we were lucky that Aish said yes.
