Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is presently awaiting the release of ‘Ki & Ka’, her upcoming film with Arjun Kapoor. The R Balki film portrays her as a corporate woman who runs her family and is married to a ‘house husband’!
In an interview with film critic Rajeev Masand, Kareena talked about her career and why it is not the most important thing in her life. Quite interestingly, she talked about ‘one film’ that she had rejected in the past, without taking any name.
“Everybody judges you on the basis of ONE film that I have said no to, which they conveniently made it into six. Because of saying no to ONE film, I don’t think you can put me in a death row. Because my career isn’t as important yet as people think it is. But yes I love acting and I will continue acting till I am 80,” she said.
And why is her career not so important to her? “Because I have other influences in life. Other things I want to be, other dreams that I want to fullfil. There are a lot of things. I am not aggressive in the way that I might not show it in my decisions, but in my mind yes I am,” the actress answered.
That was a brave answer! Being a part of mainstream film industry and also being an actress who possesses a commendable career in acting, acknowledging that she has other priorities isn’t easy.
Well said, Kareena!
