Comedian Tanmay Bhat uploaded a parody between Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar in the wake of comedy, but in turn it turned out to be plain mockery of the living legends. He received a lot of flak from the audience and even B-Town was a part of it. Many celebs openly condemned this act of Tanmay causing a big controversy. But so far we did not have any reaction from the people who were actually mocked. Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar and ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had kept mum over the drama, but in a recent piece in DNA, Lata Mangeshkar has given out her reaction.
Lata Mangeshkar, who has been the voice of infinite number of superhit songs, says that she is unaffected by the video. She was quoted saying, “Nothing affects me. I’ve been through so much, I’ve faced so many hurdles in life. At an age when other girls play with dolls I was out of the house trying to find work as a singer. I learnt from a young age that work is the only thing that matters.”
Well, with the kind of work she has done over the span of her singing career, nothing can hamper or malign her reputation and definitely not this video by Tanmay Bhat. But again, there’s no denial that the sentiments of her fans have been hurt. On the same she says, “Log bahot pareshan ho gaye. Mujhe yeh buralaga. I don’t like the idea of people getting hassled because of me. I want to assure all my well-wishers that these (spoofs, etc) are very small matters. There are far greater issues in life. We must not give undue importance to those who thrive on maligning people. I am sure they have their reasons for doing what they do.”
