‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ to finally release on July 28, will be clashing with ‘Indu Sarkar’

Finally, the movie ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha‘ which got clearance from the FCAT (Film Certification Appellate Tribunal) last month has got a release date. The movie will be releasing on July 28, 2017. It has got an ‘A’ certificate and will finally see the light of day on July 28. The movie is all set to face a clash from Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie ‘Indu Sarkar’ which stars Kirti Kulhari (of ‘PINK’ fame) in the lead role.

Talking about ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, the movie is directed by debutante Alankrita Shrivastava and produced by Prakash Jha. Ekta Kapoor has come onboard as the presenter and pan-India distributor for the movie. It stars Konkona Sensharma, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur in the lead roles. The story revolves around the lives of four small town women between the age of 18-55 – a young beautician, a burkha-clad woman, an ageing widow and a mother of three. The movie has already won Spirit of Asia Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Best Film on Gender Equality, Oxfam Award at Mumbai Film Festival.
