Just yesterday, Vidya Balan revealed the first poster of her upcoming release ‘Begum Jaan’. She stole the show as a brothel owner and how! Before we could get over her raunchy, raw avatar, the second poster is already here.
“Celebrating my family this Women’s Day – here’s #BegumKiJaan!,” Vidya wrote as she shared the poster on Twitter. (Also Read: #BegumJaan: Vidya Balan as brothel owner is at her raunchy best, nails it in the poster)
On International Women’s Day, this just set our spirit higher. The poster reads ‘Lived as wh*res, fought as queens’. Those few words are enough to talk about the plight of the women on the backdrop of India’s partition.
Gauahar Khan, Pallavi Sharda and a number of other women as s*x workers carry an earthy, firm look that fits the mood much.
None of the recent releases of Vidya Balan witnessed commercial success. This included the much touted ‘Kahaani 2’. However, with ‘Begum Jaan’, the equation will hopefully change.
Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the film releases on 14th of April.
