‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ declared tax-free in Jharkhand before release

Everyone is eagerly waiting for the release of ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story‘, the biopic based on the life of cricket icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni. This Neeraj Pandey directorial which sees actor Sushant Singh Rajput playing the titular role is already creating the right noise among the viewers and looking at the tremendous curiosity building around it, there’s a good news we just heard. This upcoming biopic has been declared tax-free in Jharkhand even before its release. For the uninitiated, Jharkhand is Dhoni’s home state.

According to an official statement, “The Jharkhand government yesterday waived entertainment tax for the biopic on Dhoni, to be released on September 30.”

Talking about it to an agency, Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios (producer) said, “Dhoni was born in Ranchi and that is where his journey began. We are extremely thrilled and thankful to the Jharkhand government, who are welcoming the film on Dhoni’s life with such open arms.”

‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ also stars Anupam Kher, Kiara Advani, Disha Patani and Bhumika Chawla in pivotal parts. It is slated to release on September 30, 2016.
