M S Dhoni’s biopic reveals his untold love story

Director Neeraj Pandey’s upcoming film ‘M S Dhoni:The Untold Story‘ is going to reveal more than secrets about cricketer M S Dhoni’s life. The film deals with not only Dhoni’s journey to stardom on the cricket field but also throws light on a series of occurences that took place in his personal life. One such is his first love story, which remained unfinished forever.

A source close to the film revealed to a leading daily that in his early 20s, Dhoni fell for a girl named Priyanka Jha. On the professional front, it was a period of immense struggle as he was fighting to secure his place in the Indian team. However, he was quite confident that he wanted to spend his life with none other than Priyanka.

In the meantime, the Indian team flew to Kenya and Zimbabwe for a tour in 2003-2004. He was marvellous in the series, with a total score of 362 in six matches. It was then that he drew attention of then-captain Sourav Ganguly and former cricketer Ravi Shastri.

An elated Dhoni returned home only to find out that his ladylove lost her life in an accident. This shattered him. Many thought he would never be able to buck up again. But he pulled himself together again and went on with his game. In the next ODI series in Pakistan, he scored a smashing 188 off 123 balls. And the rest is history!

While finalising the plot, Pandey convinced Dhoni that this was a turning point in his life and it needed to be shared. Convinced, Dhoni permitted him to include the incident in the film.
