Mahesh Bhatt and Ali Zafar

After the Uri attack and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ furore, Pakistani artistes were banned from Bollywood. Even though the Indian government had clarified that it has not banned Pakistani artistes, a ban was being observed by the industry insiders due to the political pressure. But looks like, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt is on the verge of breaking this norm.

If reports are to be believed, then, Mahesh Bhatt has contacted Pakistani artiste Ali Zafar to croon a song in his upcoming venture and apparently, the singer-actor has given a positive nod too. Imran Zahid, a Delhi-based actor, who is going to be a part of this project, revealed quite a few bits over this.

He was quoted saying, “Every Pakistani artiste Bhatt saab has approached has responded enthusiastically. Shafqat Amanat Ali’s manager said he doesn’t want any money for this song. We are also working on getting Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam on board.”

He also revealed that songs are going to be used in a play. “We are going to use the voices of the Pakistani artistes, for a play called Milne Do which will be staged in Delhi on June 8 and Mumbai on June 23. Furthermore the Indian government has clarified that it has not banned Pakistani artistes. When the Government has taken a clear stand on the issue, what chance do the protesters stand?”, he said.

Well, we agree that talent sees no boundaries, but with the unofficial ban, we can foresee the trouble Mahesh Bhatt is calling for! (ALSO READ: Aww! Mahesh Bhatt is suffering from Alia withdrawals)
