Mumbai Court summons Ram Gopal Varma for his derogatory tweets on Lord Ganesha

More than his films, Ram Gopal Varma stays in the news for his thoughts. His opinions are always extreme and in some way or the other he falls into trouble because of them. In 2014, during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, RGV had posted something on Twitter about Lord Ganesha and as usual, his comments were not welcomed by the audience. “The guy who couldn’t save his own head from being cut, how he will save others heads is my question? But Happy Ganapathi day to morons!,” [sic] he tweeted. And what followed was a huge outrage over the same. He later apologised for his remarks, but till then, damage was already done.

A complaint was filed against RGV for hurting the religious sentiments of people. The managing director of Indus Communications, Vivek Shetty, had filed a complaint that read, “These tweets are per se outrageous and are on the face of it, hurting and inciting religious feelings and sentiments of people who practice, preach and propagate Hindu religion.” [sic]

Now, an update on this states that the Mumbai Court has ordered fresh summons to Ram Gopal Varma and have ordered him to appear in court. Whether he will appear in the court or not, is something that time will tell us. (Also Read: Ram Gopal Varma regrets picking up on Tiger Shroff for no reason)
