Nana Patekar is respected not only for extending his help to the needy ones, but also for his liberal and broad approach towards life. The actor recently travelled to Sindhudurga district of Maharashtra to attend a school function and delivered an inspiring speech for the students.
“We all are Indians and that should be our only religion. What is the need to be called a Hindu, Muslim or Christian? Does anybody have any religion or caste at the time of birth?” Patekar asked
“Every religion says, look for God in a human being. Everybody has a hero and a villain within themselves. So it depends upon you to be a hero or a villain. If you show humanity, it will give you satisfaction,” he added.
He is presently collecting funds for the farmers of drought-affected areas in rural Maharashtra. Makarand Anaspure, an actor from the Marathi film industry has joined hands with him for the same cause.
