Nandita Das and Subodh Maskara separate after 7 years of marriage

As if 2016 wasn’t enough on breakup front, seems like 2017 too, is not going to be much different. The beginning of the year 2017 started off on a sad note for actor-director Nandita Das and her husband Subodh Maskara, who have decided to separate after seven years of marriage. The couple have a six-year old son, Vihaan.

Speaking of the separation, Nandita confirmed and said, “Yes, it is true. Subodh and I have decided to separate. Thankfully, it is very amicable. Our son is our foremost priority and as parents of a delightful and sensitive child we request that his and our privacy be respected. There’s nothing to hide and there’s nothing more to be said.”

Further talking about the situation between her and Subodh, she said, “Separation is never easy, more so if you have a child. For us, our son is our main concern and we are committed to ensuring his well-being.”

Nandita and Subodh got hitched on January 2, 2010. Nandita was earlier married to Saumya Sen, but they got divorced in 2002.

On the work front, Nandita is all set for her next directorial venture, after 9 years. The film is based on Saadat Hasan Manto, a writer, author and playwright of Indo-Pakistani descent, and who is touted to be amongst the greatest short story writers in South Asian history.
