Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh has recently shot for an advertisement to raise awareness for a social cause which is close to his heart. The actor stood up for elephants who are abused and used for tourist joyrides.
As part of a campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, Neil appeared in a print ad, which sees him bruised and in shackles. The ad reads, “Elephants Used for Joyrides Are Beaten, Shackled, and Abused.” (Also Read: Neil Nitin Mukesh goes unrecognisable as Sanjay Gandhi in ‘Indu Sarkar’)
The ad had been shot by photographer Rohan Shrestha, speaking of which, Neil says, “We actors choose to entertain people, but elephants who are used for human amusement are forced into this business. These beautiful gentle giants are beaten, shackled, and abused, and their spirits are broken — just for the sake of joyrides.”
On the work front, Neil will next be seen in the film ‘Indu Sarkar’,which is a Madhur Bhandarkar-directed film. All set to hit the screens on July 21, ‘Indu Sarkar’ is about the Emergency in 1975 and will see him play Sanjay Gandhi, while actress Supriya Vinod will play the role of India’s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Apart from ‘Indu Sarkar’, Neil will also be seen in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal 4’ featuring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Parineeti Chopra, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi in the lead roles.
