No! Anushka Sharma has not been approached for Shah Rukh Khan’s untitled dwarf movie

This morning, there were reports of actress Anushka Sharma being approached for Aanand L. Rai’s untitled next opposite Shah Rukh Khan, post the exit of Deepika Padukone. It all started with reports last week stating that Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif were roped in for Aanand L. Rai’s movie which stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. It would have been a casting coup of sorts to see Deepika and Katrina in one movie, considering the common past they share (both have dated Ranbir Kapoor). However, Deepika bowed out of the project owing to date issues. Since, the shooting of ‘Padmavatai’ has been delayed, it wasn’t possible for the actress to accommodate dates for this movie too which begins rolling soon. So, post reports of her exit, sources close to a daily stated that Anushka Sharma had been approached to step in. The source said that Aanand and Anushka met some days back and had a discussion over the same.

But, it seems that this is far from the truth. According to a report in Pinkvilla, Anushka’s spokesperson has vehemently denied the news by saying that she has not been approached for the project. And it does make sense to us because SRK and Anushka are already shooting for Imtiaz Ali’s movie and immediately casting them in another movie would have kept no curiosity in the audiences’ mind.

In the Aanand L. Rai movie, SRK will be essaying the role of a dwarf and the movie is scheduled to release in December 2018.
