No reward for Ranbir Kapoor, says Shah Rukh Khan on ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ title

Yesterday, a big wait was over for the fans as the title of Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer was locked. The makers announced and released the first look posters of this film which is titled ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. Having a look at this title, it seems to be a combination of two films that are ‘When Harry Met Sally’ and ‘Jab We Met’. But, not many would be aware that finalising title of  this film was a lot more struggle for the makers.

After tentative titles like ‘The Ring’, ‘Rehnuma’ and ‘Raula’, this Imtiaz Ali-directorial finally got its title with ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’. After the first look was shared on social media; there was something that caught our attention – Shah Rukh Khan’s tweet. This tweet possibly gave out an idea that somewhere actor Ranbir Kapoor was involved behind finalising the title of this film with the team. (Also Read: Shah Rukh Khan says Aanand L Rai brings happiness on the sets of the film)

Shah Rukh has written, “Just in case Ranbir Kapoor ever claims it…the title Jab Harry met Sejal was never ever suggested by him!So he doesn’t win the Rs.5000 reward.” [sic]

Well, it is a known fact that Ranbir shares a close bond with director Imtiaz Ali. Both of them have worked together in films like ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Tamasha’. So, perhaps being a friend Ranbir would have come up with a couple of suggestions from his side for this film’s title.

But, going by what SRK is saying, certainly there’s no credit for Ranbir behind this finalised title. Hmm, but we are really wondering what other title suggestions did Ranbir give.

The Imtiaz Ali-directorial also stars Anushka Sharma opposite SRK and is slated to release now on August 4, 2017.
