Bollywood superstars Salman Khan’s upcoming film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan‘ is all set for release this Eid in India. The fans of the Khan in Pakistan need not be disappointed for the movie has been passed by Pakistan’s CBFC too. They have given a green signal to Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ with a few cuts. The only sad part in the silver lining is that the release date hasn’t been inked yet.
Mobashir Hasan, chairman of the CBFC has revealed that ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ has been approved for Eid release by the CBFC but with several cuts [to the film. Hasan has also added that that since the CBFC is a regulatory body, determining the time of release of a film doesn’t fall within its jurisdiction, but that it has ‘approved’ ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ for Eid.
Mobashir Hasan said, “In special cases, where a film has to be delayed or restricted, we receive directives from the information ministry, and we haven’t received any such instructions so far. But since the CBFC doesn’t hold power over the release date or over censoring a film all across Pakistan, but security agencies have asked regional censor boards to play a uniform cut of Bajrangi Bhaijaan across the country.”
Quite possible that Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ might get a release date a week after Eid, as on this EID in Pakistan, two big films are pitted against each other. So if ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ is released with them, then it might eat into the Pakistani Films profits.
We shall soon let you know the release date of Bajrangi Bhaijaan in Pakistan.
