Prachi Desai: Why reports of catfight on women always and never on men?

Prachi Desai, who became a popular face on television with the mega soap ‘Kasamh Se’, made her Bollywood debut with the 2008 musical drama ‘Rock On!!’. The film went on to become one of the biggest hits of that year, also ensuring a great debut for Prachi. However, when ‘Rock on 2’ was all set to go on floors this year, Prachi was surprisingly not a part of the lead cast. Instead, Shraddha Kapoor came aboard as the female lead.

As expected, rumours of Shraddha and Prachi not gelling up well and having silly catfights on the sets surfaced on the internet, as soon as the film’s outdoor shoot at Shillong kicked off. Now, Prachi has opened up about it.

“This really doesn’t amuse me any more. The films that I have done and the ones which I haven’t done, I keep reading these reports when there are two female actors involved. I just keep wondering why people want to make a scapegoat or a laughing stock out of women? Why don’t we say such things about the guys? Now I just laugh it off. It is just a PR exercise that some machinery do or may be the press does. We are not 10-year-old who would fight. I don’t think Shraddha and I owe any explanation to anyone. We meet so often, whether it is the shoot, parties or promotions and we really have a gala time. We just laugh about it,” she shrugs.

Prachi, however, wasn’t seen in almost any of the promotional events of ‘Rock On 2’. But here’s hoping all is well!
