Priyanka Chopra is on a roll in the West, but is equally involved in spreading the reach of Indian regional cinema to the whole country.
After the actress has produced a Bhojpuri film ‘Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi’ and a Marathi film ‘Ventilator’, Priyanka is also producing her third venture, which is a Punjabi film titled ‘Sarvann’, which is set to release next week. The Punjabi movie also has a special ‘shabad’ sung by her late father, Dr. Ashok Chopra.
And now the actress is all set to produce her next ventures in other languages. While in India, she shared, “I will be announcing five, small-budget, content-driven, path-breaking films in other languages this year. I want to tell as many stories as possible using local talent speaking in regional tongues.”
Her next regional project is a Sikkimese-Nepalese film titled ‘Paua’ which means guest. The movie is a story of two young children who separate from their parents at the time of an unrest at the Indian border.
