Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi’ is doing super-busy with his upcoming release ‘Airlift’. The film has created strong buzz already; no wonder the makers would especially put an emphasis on promotions. The actor will soon be seen on the sets of popular television reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ to promote the film. Meanwhile, he has revealed something interesting!
‘Airlift’ is based on the true story of Kuwait Evacuation which took place during the Gulf War in 90’s when an Indian businessman undertook a rescue operation for the Indians who were stranded in Kuwait. Akshay Kumar plays the lead in the film. He recently said that a number of producers suggested to make it as a documentary and not a feature film.
“Director Raja Krishna Menon was working on this script for four years. He has been closely associated with many of those people who were stranded in that situation. It has been a tremendous effort of my director to present the facts onscreen. But let me tell you this… when he approached several producers with the script, they suggested him to make it into a documentary”- the actor said.
This evacuation is such a big fact for our country, but the kind of response the director got of making a documentary, it was upsetting. I want that each and every Indian must watch this film ‘Airlift’, and feel proud of being an Indian,”-he added.
‘Airlift’ is slated to release on 15th of January, 2016.
