Baahubali 2

The highly awaited movie ‘Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion’ is facing many obstacles just days before its release. Well, it all started when actor Sathyaraj (who plays the role of Kattappa) spoke about the Cauvery water crisis which resulted in severe protests in Karnataka and the protesters were trying their level best to ban the movie from getting released in Karnataka. Sathyaraj had made those comments nine years back, but seeing the harsh consequences, he lent an apology for his comments. He said, “I have got to know that what I had spoken during the Cauvery water crisis has created a lot of tension among the people of Karnataka. I am not against Kannadigas or Karnataka. The biggest example for this is that for the last 35 years my assistant has been Shekar who is a Kannadiga. I would like to apologise for the statement that I had made nine years back and would like to say that I am a small worker in ‘Baahubali’ film and my comment should not affect the film. I appeal to Tamils to understand.”

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli too released a video making a request to the protesters to let his movie have a smooth released. And, now it looks like the protesters have finally decided to withdraw the ban from its Karnataka release. News agency ANI tweeted, “Pro Kannada activists withdraw protest and call off bandh against movie Baahubali 2: Vattal Nagraj, Karnataka Rakshine Vaikeke.” Another tweet read as, “Ensure you don’t use derogatory terms against Kannadigas. If you do, your future movies will be banned in Karnataka: V Nagraj on Sathyaraj.”
