Rajkummar Rao shaves off his head to look like Subhash Chandra Bose

His unbelievable transformation for ‘Raabta’ amused us. This time, Rajkummar Rao is set to essay the character of freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. However, not for a film. Rajkummar will be playing the titular role in an upcoming web series about the national hero, directed by Hansal Mehta.

Instead of opting for prosthetics, Rajkummar has decided to go for an easier and more apt solution. He shaved portions of his head. “We tried prosthetics, but it wasn’t working for me. Playing Bose was a huge responsibility and I didn’t want to go wrong. It was an impromptu decision to go shave,” the actor told Mid-day. “When Rajkummar gave his nod to the web series, he thought of sporting a semi-bald look as value addition to his appearance. He takes his roles seriously and doesn’t hold back from putting in extra effort to make them more relatable and interesting,” a source close to the development added.

The web series aims to portray Bose’s journey as a national leader and rejuvenating the Indian National Army.
