Rakhi Sawant appears in Ludhiana court in a burkha and gets bail in the Valmiki case

Rakhi Sawant appeared in Ludhiana court on Thursday wearing a burkha and filed an application for bail in a case which involved her making some objectionable comments against Sage Valmiki last year. She surrendered before the court, a day before the hearing date of Friday. The court granted her bail as she submitted two bail bonds of Rs 1 lakh each.

Clad in a burkha, Rakhi went to the court to avoid being recognised as it would end up in some sort of protests by people against her or possibly a physical attack on her. For those who came late, Rakhi landed in trouble over her objectionable comments against Sage Valmiki last year. Even though, she had rendered an apology, a complaint was filed against her with the Ludhiana police. On June 2, fresh warrants were issued against her by the court, but she remained absent for the hearing, following which the court ordered non-bailable warrants against her and asked for her presence in court on July 7. However, Rakhi surprised all by appearing for the hearing a day before.
