In our Indian society, there are things that are said to be feminine, and one of it is applying mehendi. Well, we hardly see a guy having mehendi on his hand. But in many communities there’s a ritual that the bridegroom applies a small amount of mehendi as it is considered to be a good omen.
However, in Bollywood we have hardly seen any male actor having mehendi on his hand, on screen. But Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ is all set to break this stereotype. In the songs of the film, we can see Ranbir Kapoor having mehendi on his hand, and that too intricate design on the entire hand. We are sure after the film releases, this will become a trend and even guys will pick up this ritual of applying henna on their hands.
It’s good to see that filmmakers are nowadays breaking stereotypes of the society.
‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ which also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma, hits the screens on October 28.
