Randeep Hooda accused of trolling a Kargil martyr’s daughter, justifies his stand

Randeep Hooda landed himself amidst controversies after he indulged in a virtual joke cracked by Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, which many found insensitive and inappropriate.

Gurmehar Kaur, a student of Delhi University and daughter of a Kargil martyr, recently opposed any form of war on her Twitter handle. She posted a photo of herself holding a placard that read, “Pakistan did not kill my father, war killed him”.

This was followed by a Tweet by Sehwag holding a similar placard that read, “I did not score two triple centuries, my bat did.”

Hooda, a celebrated actor, found great humour in this.

A mockery towards a woman who lost her father in a war and is giving out messages against war and opposing hatred towards the neighbouring country as well, is not worth being appreciated. Both Sehwag and Hooda were severely trolled. Following this, the ‘Highway’ actor took to Facebook and wrote a long post, justifying his stand. ‘Don’t hang me over a laugh’, he pleaded, while accusing journalists of giving the incident a different colour.
