Body-shaming, slut-shaming and more, are often discussed in the world of Bollywood. Celebrities now do not refrain from sharing their strong opinion on the same and even in slamming all those who try to malign their image. Randeep Hooda too has a strong opinion on the same.
In his latest interaction with the media, Randeep Hooda spoke quite openly on the topic of slut-shaming. He was quoted saying, “The show talks to men that women are not an object of your desire, she is a person. If a woman enjoys sex, it doesn’t mean that she is a slut.” The show that he is talking about is reality show ‘MTV Big F.’
Apart from this, Randeep was in the news recently for mocking DNU student Gurmehar Kaur. Giving out his clarification, Randeep stated, “I do believe I should have been more careful about my tweets and a young girl like her shouldn’t have gone through it.”
“I didn’t know who this girl was and I saw a tweet by Sehwag and I often laugh at his jokes. He jokes about all kind of things and I just laughed at it and I didn’t look at it. Then, I start getting messages and some prominent journalists were commenting on it. Then, I quickly went back on Twitter and saw what’s happening. I very precisely said that do not politicise this poor girl’s point of view and those two words were taken – poor and girl – then they said you are a misogynist and sexist. I said hey! I pointedly said that violence is wrong. People were coming up with things like despite being a girl, she is thinking about it. Let me clarify that I wasn’t aware of it then and when I did become aware, I issued a statement and it was not directed at her at all,” he added further.
