Salman Khan, along with Anushka Sharma, was scheduled to go on a city tour to promote his upcoming release ‘Sultan’. However, reports suggest that the plans might change now, thanks to the controversy followed by Salman Khan’s ‘raped woman’ comment.
Salman and Anushka are now promoting the film on a few TV shows, but are going slow with other promotional activities. Reports further suggest that they are to limit their communication with the press as well.
Recently during an interview with the press, Salman said he felt like a ‘raped woman’ after the terribly taxing shoots of ‘ Sultan’. Since then, wherever he has dropped in, Salman was bombarded with questions about it. A gang-rape victim from Haryana even filed a Rs 10 crore suit against him, demanding an apology and the National Commission of Women, after a dissatisfactory justification of the statement from Salman’s lawyer, has summoned the actor. On this backdrop, the makers are apparently trying to control the situation, by limiting scope of conversations.
“The film’s marketing team is carefully planning Salman’s appearances and events so that he is not hounded for a reaction to his recent comment on any platform,” NDTV quoted a source.
‘Sultan’ directed by Ali Abbas Zafar hits the screens on July 6.
