Raveena Tandon Maatr

Raveena Tandon‘s ‘Maatr’ has created quite a stir, even before its release. Thanks to its brutally honest storyline and a more honest narration, the film is expected to be a wide critical success.

However, ten days prior to the release of ‘Maatr’, a fresh trouble seems to have cropped up. Reportedly, CINTAA (Cine and TV artists Association) has requested Raveena to not take part in promotions as producer Anjum Rizvi is yet to clear payments of a number of crew members of his previous film.

Sai Paranjype’s ‘Katha’ was remade by Khalid Mohammed and produced by Rizvi. It had actors like Maniesh Paul and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub playing pivotal parts. “Khalidji had told me about the issue six months ago. At that time, I also learnt of a complaint by Chiranjeet. A non-co-operation notice was issued by CINTAA against Anjum, who promised to clear dues as soon as his next kicks off,” Amit Behl, joint secretary of CINTAA, told a leading publication. Raveena also received a letter from the organization, requesting her not to promote the film.

“We have approached Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association and TV Producers Council and The Film & Television Producers Guild to look into the matter,” Behl further stated.

Directed by Ashtar Sayed, ‘Maatr’ is scheduled for a release on April 21.
