After portraying an emotional yet strong character in her comeback film ‘Maatr’, Raveena Tandon would be seen in an extremely bold avatar in her next film ‘Shab’. Directed by Onir, ‘Shab’ will showcase Raveena Tandon in a negative character. We haven’t seen Raveena showing off her grey shades in a film, but ‘Shab’, seems to be an exception. So in a recent interview with a web portal, Raveena revealed as to why she chose to do a bold film like ‘Shab’.
When asked why she chose this film, the actress said, “You know, my role is very different. It has negative shades. This is something I have never played before. This is the reason. Besides, I always wanted to work with Onir.”
She also revealed that Onir had planned this film long ago, but due to certain reasons, it could not go on floors. She said, “We had planned to do this film long ago. But something or the other kept happening. Then I took a sabbatical. After that I realised I didn’t want to do this film. So, Onir also didn’t make it. Then, eventually, he asked again whether I was ready to work on the film. I said yes, let’s do it. So we just went ahead.”
‘Shab’ also stars Ashish Bisht and Arpita Chatterjee in pivotal roles. (Also Read: Onir’s ‘Shab’ makes it to 14th Indian Film Festival Stuttgart)
