In a country like India, where even the slightest of opinion on a national or social issue could get you in trouble, our celebs are subjected to trolls and bashing for expressing their opinions.
So, recently when singer Sonu Nigam expressed his discomfort over early morning noise decibels of the Azaan in mosques, he received a lot of hatred from the extremists and even some Bollywood celebs like Pooja Bhatt and Wajid Khan slammed the singer for his “gundagardi” remark. However, Sonu did take to Twitter and clarified his statement by saying that it wasn’t targeted towards one particular community but he only wanted to address the use of loudspeakers in temples, mosques and other religious places that cause discomfort early in the morning. Her parting statements in the letter said, “As far as Sonu Nigam is concerned, he has every right to voice his opinions, why is there such an outrage about anything anyone says these days? Yes, I didn’t agree with what he said but I respect his right to have a different opinion than mine.” True!
