‘Baby’ actress Taapsee Pannu, who is currently shooting for Prakash Raj’s Bollywood directorial debut ‘Tadka’ in Goa will once again be seen riding a bike for her film.
This fearless actress has always been open to trying new stuff and was stunned to see how people gave a damn about road safety. Seeing how irresponsible the people are especially in places like Goa, Taapsee has decided to team up with a friend of hers to boost awareness about responsibility and road safety. Her friend, who runs a NGO in Delhi, works for spreading awareness about condemning – drinking and driving.
According to collective data, about 350 people die every day on India`s roads – more than any other country – with those under 18 and two-wheeler riders most vulnerable. Looking at all these issues, Taapsee says,” For the longest time I couldn’t own a bike in spite of knowing how to ride a bike because it wasn’t safe to ride a bike and I totally agree to it. I have seen a couple of accidents happening in front of me in Delhi, Mumbai and Goa. So sad to see people value thrill over their lives. I wish I can influence people’s mind in a good way where safety on roads is concerned“.
Taapsee plans on becoming the new face for a No Drink and Drive awareness campaign and is spearheading the effort to make a real difference.
