Sagarika Ghatge on engagement with Zaheer Khan: It was a surprise for me too

‘Chak De! India’ actress Sagarika Ghatge has finally made her love story with her cricketer-boyfriend Zaheer Khan official. This morning, the two broke the news of their engagement on Twitter with Zaheer Khan posting a picture with his ladylove flaunting her engagement ring. While, reports were rife since a long time now that the two are dating, but they never really came out in the open and spoke about it. So, how did it all unfold? Sagarika opened up on how Zaheer popped the question to her and how everything just fell in place. In an interview with a leading tabloid, the actress said, “It was a surprise for me too as it came right in the middle of the IPL season. We wanted to get away from the city as we had two days off in between matches. So he flew me to Goa for a day and that’s how the engagement happened.” Awww!

Isn’t it amazing how the man planned this out in the middle of the ongoing IPL season? He is the captain of Delhi Daredevils and it’s no mean feat to manage this out. Sagarika further spoke about the marriage date, “Let the Indian Premier League get over first, then, we will decide on a date. Right now we don’t want to get stressed because Zaheer is focused on the matches.” She also added that they are both private people and that’s how they have always been. The actress quoted, “That’s the way we both are, when there was something to share, we shared it. There’s a right time for everything.”

We are damn excited about this one, as we have already seen two lavish weddings of Bollywood divas marrying the handsome hunks from the field of cricket. Yuvraj Singh’s wedding with Hazel Keech and Harbhajan Singh’s wedding with Geeta Basra was quite a sight to watch. We now look forward to Zaheer Khan’s wedding with Sagarika.
