The Nawab of Bollywood Saif Ali Khan after the Wasabi assualt case, is embroiled in another controversy. The actor has is trying to avoid his ancestral property being confiscated. The actor was facing the threat of losing his Padma Shri due to the assault case and now he is rushing to save his ancestral property. Saif did not make it to the court for the assault case but he was very much present in court for his ancestral property case.
Under the Enemy Property Act, 1968 the government is planning to confiscate Saif Ali Khan’s ancestral property. Saif’s grandmother Sajida Sultan inherited the properties of Bhopal’s last ruler, Nawab Hamidullah Khan in the year 1961. Sajida’s older sister, who was the heir apparently had migrated to Pakistan in 1950, a year after Bhopal State was merged with India. The Bhopal property came under scanner after Saif’s claim to heir was questioned.
To protect his claim, Saif has moved Madhya Pradesh High Court, seeking intervention from confiscation of his ancestral property. His lawyer, Rajesh Pancholi claims, ”Enemy property excludes citizens of India. We have pleaded that vesting order be quashed.” Seems like Controversies and court cases are refusing to let go Saif Ali Khan’s hand.
Will Saif Ali Khan be able to save his ancestral property? We shall keep you updated.
