Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is serving sentence at Pune’s Yerawada Jail. The Munnabhai actor has put forward a request for a 30 day parole. Sanjay Dutt son of late actor-politician Sunil Dutt, is serving his remaining 42-month jail term since May 2013. The actor’s jail term was rumored to end by early next year. Now he has requested for a parole.
Sanjay Dutt was sentenced to 5 years imprisonment by the Supreme Court for illegal possession of arms in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. Since he had served 18 months in jail from 2007 to 2008, he was required to complete his remaining jail term.
Many Social organisations have protested on Sanjay Dutt being granted bail again and again. They have pointed out that, Dutt had served 18 months of his five-year jail term in 2007-08. But between May 2013 and May 2014, he has spent over 118 days out of jail either on parole or furlough.
Brother of politician Priya Dutt, actor Sanjay Dutt has once again put forward a request for a 30 day parole to the Divisional Commissioner. The request is apparently under process.
