While Rajkumar Hirani works tirelessly to capture Sanjay Dutt’s life journey on celluloid, the actor is trying to do his bit to help the drug-addicts recover. Sanjay will join hands with the Government to set up drug rehabilitation centres across the country.
“I am in talks with the government; the approvals are yet to come through. All details will be finalised once we get necessary permissions. We need to offer effective facilities and counselling help,” Dutt told Mid-Day. (Also Read: Sanjay Dutt shows humble gesture towards media photographers)
There was a time when Dutt would be under the influence of drugs for more than two days at a stretch. He got over that phase after intensive and expensive treatment in America.
“I could opt for (expensive de-addiction) treatment and rehab in America because my family could afford it. Not everyone can,” he added.
On the work front, Dutt will make a comeback with Omung Kumar’s ‘Bhoomi’.
