It is a known fact that actor Sanjay Dutt‘s biopic is being made by director Rajkumar Hirani. The project may go on floors soon but one of Sanjay Dutt’s close friends in Bollywood is not in the favour of a biopic being made on the ‘Munna Bhai’ actor. And it’s none other than director Sanjay Gupta.
In a recent interview, Sanjay Gupta said, “I don’t think the biopic should be made. He is very much around and will be coming back as a hero to films. So, what is the need? He has had an interesting life and everyone knows about it.”
“There will be no character of mine in the film. I want to be the hero and not hero’s friend,” he said in a lighter vein hinting that the biopic won’t carry his character.
However, Gupta spoke that actor Ranbir Kapoor who is playing the titular part of Dutt would be the apt choice for this film.

He said, “Ranbir will look the part at a certain level. Young Sanju had so much innocence on his face, which is there on Ranbir’s face. And Ranbir is one of the best actors we have today who can pull off anything.”
Many moviegoers would be aware that Sanjay Gupta had made his directorial debut with ‘Aatish’ which featured Sanjay Dutt in the lead role in the year 1994. Following this, they have worked on many projects with ‘Kaante’ and ‘Zinda’ being the notable ones.
“Once a script comes, we will work. I am dying to work with him again, we have had a fabulous association,” added Sanjay Gupta when asked whether he would team up with Sanjay Dutt again.
Currently, Sanjay Gupta is looking forward to the release of his upcoming directorial ‘Kaabil’ which stars Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. It is slated to release on January 25.
Quiet, resonant, and creative, he can be seen immersed in his own world, and puts in his heart and soul into the one passion that he has, Bollywood. His line for survival? Feel happy to be a part of it.
