Just a few weeks left for the release of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-starrer ‘Sarbjit’, and the makers are leaving no stone unturned to create more curiosity among the viewers. While promotions are on in full swing, today the makers came up with something which actually began this journey that makes for a heart-wrenching story.
May 2 marks the third death anniversary of Sarabjit Singh who was brutally attacked by the prisoners with bricks, sharp metal sheets, iron rods and blades. Succumbing to the injuries, Sarabjit breathed his last in Lahore hospital. While serving the jail sentence, Sarabjit often wrote letters to his family, which are now his only memories left with his family, as he never returned to his house. While researching for the film, the makers were provided with some of his letters which gave them an idea of what he was going through in jail and how much love he had for his wife Sukhpreet and others.
As we could see the glimpses of these letters in the trailer and song videos as well, the ‘Sarbjit’ team has shared one of the letters on their Facebook page, in the fond memory of Sarabjit Singh.
‘Sarbjit’ also stars Randeep Hooda playing the titular role whereas Richa Chadha will be seen playing Sukhpreet Kaur, wife of Sarabjit Singh. The film is slated to release on May 20, 2016.
Here’s the letter that was shared on the official page of ‘Sarbjit’…
