Shabana Azmi all praise for Delhi Metro

This morning, we came across actress Shabana Azmi‘s Twitter update. Due to an urgent appointment which required her to reach on time, she ditched her private car and took the metro rail from Delhi Airport.

She was amazed with the cleanliness she witnessed and took to Twitter to share it. “Travelling by Delhi Metro from airport to make it in time for an urgent appointment! Its SUPERB.. clean .!” [sic] the actress wrote. (Also Read: Here’s why Javed Akhtar considers Shabana Azmi as ‘Trophy Wife’)

The gruelling traffic of office hours wouldn’t have let her keep up her punctuality. But thanks to the super fast metro service, she was at her destination at the right time. ‘Hey guys!Appointment done.Wud never hve made it in time by car!The magic of public transport! Delhi Metro WOW!,” she later wrote. This got the Delhiites rejoicing! [sic]

We last saw Azmi in ‘Chalk N Duster’, a socially relevant film throwing light on the present-day commercialised education system that’s slowly prevailing all over India. She is now working with Aparna Sen for the later’s multilingual film ‘Sonata’.
