Shah Rukh Khan speaks about the credibility of award functions

Since the past few years, the credibility of award functions is a big question. Well, it is said that the organisers only give awards to the people who attend the show as it is all about face value and TRPs for them. Recently, at the launch of Indian Academy Awards, Shah Rukh Khan spoke about the credibility of award functions.

The actor said, “Television has destroyed the credibility of awards functions to an extent. Honestly, what happens now is an award function is made more television friendly. It is really sad according to me. The organisers initially start with a lot of earnestness and ethic… but somewhere we get entangled in the loop. I won’t take away the fact that everyone tries to be credible, everyone tries to make the best step possible but I think that reasons of commerce and economics sometimes don’t let it go to the extent.”

“So the assumption every time is whenever a new award function begins and at such a platform and with such people (referring to Indian Academy Awards) who are making an earnest effort so you are hopeful…,” SRK added.

When it comes to films, the actor will next be seen in ‘Raees’ which is slated to hit the screens January 25, 2017.
