“Ammi jaan kehti thi, koi dhanda chhota nahin hota. Aur dhande se bada koi dharam nahin hota,” smiles Shah Rukh Khan, while he looks at you with his intense, intriguing eyes.
This famous dialogue from ‘Raees’ is already famous, even before the film’s release. During a recent conversation with a popular daily, SRK was asked what was that one advice his mother gave him.

As many might already know, Shah Rukh’s journey to stardom did not happen overnight. Thanks to his tenacity and hard work, today he lives the life he once dreamt of. However, his mother always suggested that he shouldn’t cut his cost of living; rather, he should increase his earning. “I do that in my profession,” he said.
That sounds not just visionary but also practical.
He adds that he can never imagine giving up on acting or any of his ventures for that matter. “I find even people taking time off strange and shocking. For whatever its worth, I was born to make films and be an actor. I read, write, play with kids, take photographs, have lot of business interests but nothing turns me on as much as acting,” he smiles.
‘Raees’ directed by Rahul Dholakia which also stars Mahira Khan, will see the light of theatres on 25th January.
