Shahid Kapoor believes Alia Bhatt should get national award for ‘Udta Punjab’

‘Udta Punjab’ has hit the theatres yesterday and is off to a flying start. Apart from the storyline and the concept, the audiences are loving Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s performance in the film.

And Shahid feels that Alia should win a national award for her performance in “Udta Punjab”. When asked if he was expecting a national award this year for his performance in the film, Shahid told reporters, “Last time you said the same (for ‘Haider’) and my expectations (went high)… But not (thinking about that) this time. You thought about that and I am happy.” He continued to say he thinks Alia deserves the award this year.

The movie which deals with the issue of drug abuse in Punjab also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.
