Shahid Kapoor turned rapper for ‘Udta Punjab’?

We were in for a smoky treat when Shahid Kapoor‘s peppy number ‘Ud Daa Punjab’ made it to the internet. We loved that trippy song with ‘Ud Daa Punjab’ being played on loop on our music charts. Well, we got one more reason for this song to be our favourite. It has Shahid Kapoor’s rap in it. Yes! Can’t believe us right?

Director Abhishek Chaubey has himself revealed it. In one of his latest interviews, the director said that Shahid has showed off his rapping skills in the songs ‘Ud Daa Punjab’ and ‘Chitta Ve’, leaving everyone impressed. He was quoted saying, “Shahid has become Tommy Singh, he has rapped even in ‘Chitta Ve’ and this further helped him rap in this track as well. He has enjoyed the process and actually finished the rap part of the song in one take. We have used the same footage in the final track.”

We did not know Shahid was so good at rapping. In fact, we didn’t even realize that it was Sasha crooning the lyrics and not some professional rapper. You are too good, Shahid!

‘Udta Punjab’ is set to release on June 17 and we just can’t wait for this!
