Shahid Kapoor – Was a little scared of referring Kareena Kapoor for Udta Punjab’

Ex lovers Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor have come together for an upcoming film, news made their fans dance in glee. The ‘Jab We Met’ co-stars who had been dating each other since long had gone their separate ways after the film ended. The two had never crossed each others path after that.

Shahid Kapoor who now shares a friendly equation with Kareena Kapoor and her husband, is said to have suggested Kareena’s name for ‘Udta Punjab’.

Confirming the news Shahid said, “The role that Kareena plays, I felt it was perfect for her. In fact, I was a little scared of referring Kareena as I did not know how it would be perceived. Lot of people were not ready to take up a film like this. It needs lot of confidence as an actor and as a star. As a star you do things that are surprising for people to watch you and you don’t know how they will react and as an actor all the roles are very challenging.”

He further added, “I told Alia too about the role. Actually, I thought of Kareena even before I thought of Alia. But with Kareena, things got delayed. Then I told Alia that there is this role which is yet not cast and if she would like to do this role. Then in the same month Kareena also heard it and agreed to do the film. So it just happened. And I felt very happy when it happened for I feel it is a very special film.”
