Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar who donned the creative producer’s hat for ‘PINK’ is cherishing every bit of love and appreciation that the film is receiving. ‘PINK’ has received nearly 21 crore at the box office but Sircar rather emphasises on the positive response from the audience, critics and media.
“For Pink, numbers don’t matter to me. I am not thinking about how much the film has earned. I am not bothered about how much business the film is making. The unprecedented love from the media and audience is what is dear to me,” he said.
He further added that they had pleaded the Central Government to make ‘PINK’ tax free so that it reaches a larger number of people and also that there would be free screenings.
I want to do free shows for this film including for girls. We will have a discussion in Kolkata. We are trying to have a discussion with the judges as well. There are plans in place (to promote the film ahead),” Shoojit stated.
The thriller stars Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang in pivotal roles and is directed by national award winning filmmaker Aniruddha Row Chowdhury.
