Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s tweets are no new menace. From Karan Johar to Fawad Khan, from author Arundhati Roy to JNU student-activist Shehla Rasheed, his offensive and often demeaning tongue spares no one. As the latest consequence, Twitter has now suspended his account.
“Account Suspended: This account has been suspended…,” is what Twitter tells you as you try reaching him over there. Bhattacharya earlier took an ugly dig at Karan Johar’s sexuality, accusing of an affair with Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. Of late, he spat out his hatred on the JNU student-activists, calling names to activist Shehla Rasheed, who according to him “(rumouredly) took money for two hours and didn’t satisfy the client… big racket.” (Also Read: An open letter to Abhijeet Bhattacharya: How about calming down a bit, sir?)
However, Bhattacharya himself is least apologetic and feels he has done no wrong. “My tweets were not at all offensive. The entire nation today stands with me. Those offended are the anti-national elements. They can abuse the Indian Army, they can speak against our Prime Minister and get away, but mere replying to their tweets can get your accounts suspended,” he told Indian Express.
Earlier this year, he indulged in another ugly war with a Pakistani user after she protested his indecent tweets. “You Ms Pak. Tell me your cage no? Will reach there… Will do the favourite pose,” [sic] he wrote.
The entire nation stands with him? We wonder!
