The renowned Pakistani singer has already won million hearts. Adnan Sami, who is a familiar face in the Indian music fraternity, has been granted the Indian citizenship which will be effective from 1st january, 2016. Sami had appealed to the Home Ministry on the 26th of May. With a positive node from Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, he is set to be called an ‘Indian’ now.
Sami first came to India with tourist Visa of one year issued by the Indian High Commission of Islamabad (Pakistan). Alongside his visa tenure being extended from time to time, the Government of Pakistan denied to extend his Pakistani passport which expired in May, 2010.
Sami’s latest hit was ‘Bhar Do Jholi’ from Salman Khan starer ‘Bajrangi Bhaijan’.
