Actress Parineeti Chopra, who is gearing up for her next film ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’ in which she has lent her voice for the first time, says singing runs in her family genes.
The 27-year-old, who was co-hosting the TOIFA’s main gala on Friday, added that her cousin and Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who has already impressed the audience with her vocal prowess by lending voice to songs like ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ title track from Zoya Akhtar’s directorial ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’. Parineeti’s family were “really excited” after knowing that she is getting a chance to sing professionally.
“Actually everyone in my family was excited because everyone knows that we all sing. I think it’s in our blood to sing. I think it’s in Chopra blood to sing so they were very happy that I was getting to do it professionally finally,” said Parineeti, when asked about the reaction by Priyanka and her family about her singing in the film.
The ‘Ishaqzaade’ actress will be seen essaying an aspiring singer in Maneesh Sharma’s forthcoming production ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’, which is directed by debutant Akshay Roy. In the film, she will be seen romancing actor Ayushmann Khurrana.
Asked if she would be working on singles like Priyanka, who worked on singles like ‘In my city’ ft. Will.i.am and ‘Exotic’ ft. Pittbull, Parineeti said: “No. Right now I am going to do some music in films and then I will see.”
