Of late, CBFC has become quite strict. While the debate on their authority over film’s content is still on going, the recent film to face the brunt of CBFC is Sonakshi Sinha’s ‘Noor’.
The film that has Sonakshi Sinha as a journalist has apparently irked the authorities with the use of Dalit community reference in the film. “The CBFC has asked for the all references to the Dalit community to be removed as it invokes a reference to the caste system. The word ‘Dalit’ has therefore been muted from ‘Noor’ wherever it occurs,” claims the source.
Not just this. Sonakshi also jokes about a ‘s*x toy’ in the film and that has to be removed too! Source says, “Sonakshi Sinha’s character was just having some harmless fun. The censor board wants ‘s*x toy’ to be replaced by ‘adult site’. They probably feel s*x toys are only used by those who watch porn.”
Directed by Sunhil Sippy, ‘Noor’ is all set to make it to the theatres on April 21, 2017. With CBFC bringing about amendments in the film, we just hope the crux of the film doesn’t get washed off. (Also Check: Sonakshi Sinha goes through a roller coaster of emotions in the second trailer of ‘Noor’)
